Using Social Media to Showcase Your Brand Personality

 

What if someone told you social media wasn’t all about click-throughs, calls-to-action, comments, likes, SEO, and hashtags? What if the purpose of social media boiled down to one word?

Personality.

Your brand personality, that is.

With so many social media platforms available, it’s easy to be overwhelmed by the sheer number of them. There’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google+, YouTube, and Tumblr… just to name a few. On top of all that, the business world demands that your company have some form of social media.

You may see social media as an unnecessary element for your company based on your market. You may be right. Social media may not drive your potential customer to your website. It may not close a deal. But, if done properly, it may allow someone to feel the passion that you have for your industry. It may allow the person that is picking between your business and your competitor to get a real feeling of what it will be like working with you and your employees. Whether you highlight your employees, your skills, your knowledge, your expertise, your work, your clients, your passions or your community, you’ve got to (got to!) post from the perspective of your brand identity. Use social media to provide support to your brand identity and to showcase the culture of your company. Use it to let people around you know exactly who it is that you are – as a business.

Showcasing our culture is the ultimate goal of Facebook for our company. It doesn’t necessarily have to drive someone to our website; the goal is to really let people get to know us, so they really do want to get to know us. 

We want them to see who we are and what we do, and exactly how uniquely we do it. We want them to see the inner workings of Nice Branding. Nine times out of ten, this social media channel is going to drive someone to call us, check out our website, or most importantly, remember us when they need our services.
