Branding Lakeland’s Chastain-Skillman, a prominent engineering firm that has been serving Central Florida for over 50 years, was no easy feat considering the long history of the company. Company leaders wanted to stay true to their heritage, yet refresh the look of the visual image of the brand, setting multiple perimeters to work within.
In 2009, Nice Branding Agency began working with Chastain-Skillman to refresh their current brand materials, provide graphic design services, and continually market their skills and disciplines.
Initially, Nice Branding Lakeland conducted a brand refresh that included updates to their current logo, business cards, general business stationery, vehicle graphics, signage, marketing materials and website.
The overall goal of the brand refresh was to modernize the company’s image while maintaining brand awareness that could only be built over 50 years in business.
The instructions for the logo refresh was to keep the original C and S in the icon. Through strong graphic design work, Nice Branding Lakeland was able to provide a more contemporary design, still paying homage to the original owners, Mr. Skillman and Mr. Chastain.
The logo was supported by a new font and color system that was intertwined throughout various proposals, case studies, and other marketing materials. The development of a brochure, notating the overall general services provided by the firm, served as a cornerstone piece for the overall marketing of the brand.
