Director of New Biz Dev, aka Sales + Networking

The Director of New Business Development is responsible for generating new, profitable business for the agency. New business is any revenue from a client the agency has been billing for less than 12 months. In addition, the Director of New Business Development may assist in closing recurring revenue with existing clients when appropriate.
The Director of New Business Development will also contribute to the success of the agency through the continual refinement of internal operations, along with the Partners.
The Director of New Business Development is responsible for aligning business development efforts with the overall goals of the company.
The Agency Work:
The agency has two types of clients:
Retainer-Based Clients have annual agreements including a variety of services such as strategy, branding, design, marketing, social and digital advertising. These clients are usually managed by an Account Manager. NBA serves as a strategic partner for many of our retainer-based clients.
Project-Based Clients come to us initially for single projects. These projects have a distinct beginning and ending. Ideally, at the end of the project, we can grow the relationship and begin to provide more services, turning them into longer-term retainer-based clients.

Social Management – Organic + Paid
Other emerging media when it makes sense
Prospect, Define, Negotiate, and Close New Business for the Agency
Prepare, Submit + Follow Up on Submitted Proposals for Projects
Work with the Director of Operations to Identify Opportunities to reach Annual Stretch Goals for Current Clients
Provides Weekly Sales Reports to Partners
Review Project Reports from Director of Operations + AM/PM to Analyze Project Success Rates to Determine which Projects are Most Profitable
Organize + Manage All Client Contracts
Work to Onboard New Clients into the Agency and Through Initial Projects, transitioning the relationship as quickly as possible to the Account Team.
Assists the President + COO as Requested
Maintain Key Role on Strategy Team
Collaborate + Execute Marketing of the Agency
What You Have:
3-5 years of experience in a branding/marketing agency setting
A college degree in Public Relations, Communications, Business, Marketing or related field
Understanding of branding, graphic design, marketing, strategy, social media and digital advertising
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
A professional demeanor paired with strong writing skills and business acumen
Personal Habits and Traits:
Can identify a good prospect, understand their needs and quickly get to right solution for them. Knows when a prospect is not a fit and it not afraid to step away.
Can quickly understand the client’s strategy and how the agency can help them reach their goals.
Can sense satisfaction and dissatisfaction with the client and the agency team.
Communications quickly, clearly and honestly
Understands the work of the agency and how it can benefit the clients.
Is motivated by sales goals and the necessity of meeting them.
The compensation package for this position includes a competitive salary and commission bundle, and includes paid vacation and holidays, reimbursement for health benefits, and 401K options.
